Finike serves the agricultural region around it and it is difficult to miss the flash of polythene-covered greenhouses around the scope along this stretch of coast. On the alluvial plain to the east of the town every square inch is utilised to grow early tomatoes, green peppers and aubergines for export.
Anything left over is used for citrus orchards. The town itself is likeable enough and an increasing number of yachts are choosing to winter over in the mild winter climate that Finike is blessed with. The site of ancient Phoenicus is nearby, though little remains. This is the nearest safe harbour to Myra and Demre.
