One of the most fascinating itineraries for your summer cruises.
A continuum of splendid views of intensive blue seas, snow-white sandy beaches and islands full of history and mythology.
Port of departure is Kerkira; short, relaxing trips in generally very calm waters will take us to Paxos and its thriving centuries-old olive trees, adorned by enchanting sandy bays in the East and picturesque steep rocks in the West.
Two are the ports to chose from: one is quiet and romantic, the other bustling with night life.
Antipaxos, the next island, is uninhabited and features the loveliest beaches in this stretch of the Mediterranean.
Next comes Levkas, a very large island.
A must: a stopover at the site where, according to the legend, famous poetess Sappho is said to have jumped to her death from the rocks high above the sea.
Cephalonia and Ithaka are the next destinations; both islands are surrounded by very clear water and characteristic fishing villages.
The last one to be visited before heading back is Zante, the birthplace of the Italian poet Foscolo; Zante, too, has charming beaches, and one is particularly renowned because turtles come to lay their eggs there.
The journey back follows a route closer to the shore, touching further islands.
Although smaller in size, they are no less beautiful: Meganisi, Atokos, Skorpios — the latter well-known for being the homestead of the late millionaire Onassis.
And again, one more stop on the coast, at Parga, renowned destination with the ruins of a Norman castle and many traces testifying to various dominations throughout the centuries.
The climate is particularly mild in these areas, and cruises are therefore possible as early as June and as late as October.
